Exclusive DAE discount on your Marché du Film Badge & More

The Russian invasion of Ukraine only intensifies and becomes more gruesome with each day. We pass our condolences to the friends and family of Maks Levin and Mantas Kvedaravičius in this time that is somehow beyond belief but also we know all too real. We extend our biggest and warmest love to those who feel like they are living in parallel realities these days. It is hard to promote business as usual and celebrations when we know that many in our community are experiencing violence, existential fear and threats near and far. The links to donate to colleagues remain at the bottom of this email.

Moreso, we are watching with a growing degree of alarm a situation unfolding in Georgia, also directly effecting our members right now, regarding the dismissal of film centre director Gaga Chkeidze. You can read a short statement from our friends at Business Doc Europe here, but there is more to come later this week.

We are also pleased to have awarded two projects at our member events Agora Docs in Thessaloniki and East Doc Platform, we welcome these filmmakers and producers to our community. Our faith in being together in this network has never been as unequivocal as it is in these days.

Take care all and check out your exclusive members-only offers below.

Marché du Film – Cannes Docs: Exclusive DAE discount

After two Covid-impacted editions, Cannes Docs is back with an ambitious in-person edition, boosted by the striking eagerness among the int’l (doc) industry to be part of Cannes 2022, actively reconnect and look towards the future!

As part of the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, Cannes Docs is a dedicated venue and tailored program of activities for all creative feature documentary film professionals – filmmakers and industry decision-makers alike. As a specialized B-to-B networking platform, Cannes Docs offers multiple panels, workshops, one-on-one consultations (notably with sales agents and festivals), showcases of docs-in-progress, happy hours, and other social events – not forgetting Doc Day, on Tuesday 24 May, the program’s traditional not-to-be-missed high point (including panels, masterclasses, and a cocktail mixer bringing together the entire doc community in Cannes).

This year’s key dates run from Thursday 19 (Opening Get-Together) to Tuesday 24 (Doc Day), with most of our activities & events taking place in between (20-23).

Badges cost 329 € +VAT. To pick up your code and registration instructions, please send an email here, and remember this is a first come, first serve offer, valid until May 4!

See you there!

Supporting Ukraine
Our Polish colleagues are collecting funds here to transport and relocate Ukrainian refugees here. You can still support the Docudays fund here or to this filmmaker-initiated campaign here, both support filmmakers on the ground in Ukraine; or Freefilmers, also on the ground in Ukraine particularly aiding the support of disabled, neurodiverse and other marginalised groups in Ukraine. You can also follow the youtube channel of babylon `13 or donate directly to them here. And if you want to keep your donations intersectional, check out this great resource here. All of these initiatives involve DAE members.

If you have special news or deals you’d like to share with DAE members, you can reach us any time at info(a)dae-europe.org
