We hope those of you who participated in the Marché Du Film and the festival in Cannes have successfully recovered! It was great seeing so many of you at the Croisette and we hope to see many more members in the upcoming markets and festivals. International Documentary Consultants Registry
We are establishing a resource for people looking for experts in certain fields rather than just passing on informal recommendations.M More generally we’d love to know what experts are out there in the field, not on our radar! If you would like to be featured in this Registry, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/TCiSGA38toaoddHaA, and feel free to share it with your network and peers.
This information will be published without contact details on our website publicly (a link to your website will be included) and a guide with contact (email and telephone) details will be available to members. Please specify in the checkbox at the bottom of the form if you prefer not to share your contact details with members. We don’t ask you to share your going rates or fees, nor do we expect you to work pro-bono. We hope this resource will bring more audiovisual productions to you and facilitate new networking possibilities. We aim to publish the Registry by the end of summer 2022.
(In case you have filled out this form in 2020 already, you will receive an email from us in the coming weeks to confirm that your information is still correct and that you would still like to be listed.).
New content on the DAE website!
We’re constantly improving and updating the DAE website to expand services for our members and the documentary community at large. Next to our industry calendars, we have now added a video library (only accessible to members) with content we have produced together with great partners and individual pages with information about the new members’ services “Story Room” and “Ask Me Anything“.
We willl soon add a virtual pinboard where we’ll publish current members’ benefits and opportunities, and share questions and information that you wish to share with other members. We are also expanding our industry calendars by an International Consultants’ Registry (see above). In the meantime you might want to consider filling out your profile (in your members account) to be featured in the
Members Directory (if you haven’t done so yet…).
Reminder: Partnership with EWA – European Women’s Audiovisual Network

The 18th edition of DOK Co-Pro Market takes place 17–18 October 2022, within the framework of our festival week in Leipzig.
What kind of projects are they looking for?

- projects in development or early stages of production
- feature-length documentaries suitable for theatrical release

- documentaries with an international audience in mind
How to submit? You can submit your project via their website until 21 July 2022. Read the Co-Pro Market guidelines and start the submission process here.
DAE member Mina Kesharvaz and colleagues released but banned from traveling and facing severe charges.
DAE member Mina Keshavarz, whose film The Art of Living in Danger won Best documentary at Busan International Film Festival, 2021, and her colleague Firouzeh Khosrovani, whose film Radiograph of a Family was awarded best film at IDFA in 2020, were arrested and held for 8 days in Evin Prison in May 2022. We are so relieved that they have been released, however, fabricated and severe charges have been issued and they are not allowed to leave Iran for six months. We call for these fake charges to be dropped, their travel allowances to be reinstated so they can continue to make beautiful documentary films for audiences around the world to enjoy.
